ChristChurch Roots

Founded as Bethel Community Church in 1919, ChristChurch has been an active member of the California Nevada United Methodist Annual Conference since 1922.

Originally, located three miles east of Chowchilla on Robertson Boulevard in what was known as the Bethel District, it has been located at 260 N. 6th Street since 1939.

The 2009 giveaway BBQs are currently on hold. Through contributions of chicken, rolls, beans, soft drinks, bottled water, charcoal briquettes, ice, plastic utensils, paper products, and other goodies the event is completely supported.

In the 2008 season over 1500 complete chicken dinners were gven away. Thanks to all who lent a hand by contributing food products, finances, or actully serving on-site!.

nursery remodelChildren's Nursery Finished

The remodeling of our childen's nursery & toddler area is finished! Thanks to many labor of love hours by Brother Joe Williams and other men of the Church! The original wooden straight grain floors were kept and refinished. Brother Bev Brown donated a new flatscreen TV and DVD system. It's all beautiful!

ChristChurch is a Certified Red Cross Emergency Shelter. We also respond to requests by the City of Chowchilla to serve as a warming shelter during the cold season and a cooling shelter during times of extreme heat.
